Multi-Store Sync: Quick Overview #

Easify Inventory Sync lets multiple Shopify stores stay connected and share data.
Some data types sync in real time, while others sync through non-real-time updates depending on Shopify’s capabilities.

Understanding these two types of sync will help set the right expectations before creating your first connection.

What Syncs in Real Time? (Instant Updates) #

Real-time sync means changes made in the Source Store are pushed to Destination Stores immediately — no waiting or manual actions required.

Real-time sync is supported for:

✔ Products

Product title, description, media, status, SEO fields, tags, vendor, etc.

✔ Collections

✔ Inventory

One-way: Source → Destination

✔ Orders

Based on the order-sync mode selected (Draft/Actual order creation).

✔ Metafields for Products, Variants, and Collections

What Does Not Sync in Real Time? #

Shopify does not provide event/webhook triggers for these resources.
Because of that, they cannot be synced instantly.

Non real-time sync:

✘ Pages

✘ Blogs

✘ Blog posts

✘ Metafields for Pages, Blogs, and Blog posts

Notes:

Because these resources cannot sync automatically in real time, the Destination Store can open the connection inside the app and click Resync anytime to pull the latest changes from the Source Store.

This ensures the Destination Store can stay up to date, even for non–real-time data.

This guide introduces the core concepts you’ll see throughout the Multi-store Sync feature, so you can get familiar with how everything works before setting up your first connection.

Let’s get started!

What You Can Sync #

Product Sync #

Sync products and variants from the Source to the Destination store.
Includes all key product details: title, description, media, vendor, category, status, tags, SEO title and description, and more.

  • Works on both existing products (synced immediately after connecting) and future updates.
  • Any change made in the Source store is automatically pushed to the Destination store.
  • Products are matched using product handle, SKU, or barcode.

Collection Sync #

Automatically sync collections from the Source store to Destination stores, keeping all storefronts consistent.

Inventory and Order Sync #

When a customer places an order in a Destination store, a matching order can also created in the Source store for easier fulfillment and inventory management.

Pages, Blogs and Blog Posts Sync #

Updates made to pages or blog posts on the Source store will automatically sync to all connected Destination stores.

Metafield Sync #

Sync product, variant, collection, page, blog and blog-post metafields from the Source to the Destination store.

Key Terms to Know #

Source Store #

This is the store where syncing begins. Usually your main warehouse, primary storefront, or central data hub.

A Source store:

  • Generates the Connection code and shares it with Destination stores
  • Manages and updates products, collections, pages, blogs and inventory
  • Shares product and inventory data with connected Destination stores
  • Receives orders generated by Destination stores

Notes:
A Source store can connect with multiple Destination stores.
A Source store cannot act as a Destination store for another Source.

Destination Store #

The store that receives updates from the Source store.

A Destination store:

  • Uses the Connection code from the Source store to connect
  • Automatically receives selected products, collections, pages, blogs and inventory
  • Can optionally adjust prices
  • Creates orders that are sent back to the Source store for fulfillment

Notes:
A Destination store can connect with multiple Source stores.
A Destination store cannot act as a Source store to another connected store.

Connection Code #

A secure code generated by the Source store. Destination stores use this code to connect and start receiving synced data.

Sync Status #

Shows the current state of your sync connection, such as No sync, In progress, Completed, Paused.

Real-Time Sync #

Pushes updates from the Source store to Destination stores instantly, without manual actions.

Sync History #

A detailed log of past sync activity, helping you track what was synced and when.
