Our current Product Personalizer (Version 1) already makes it easy to set up options with a live preview, handling many common cases right out of the box. But we’re not stopping there!
We’re working hard to make your experience even smoother, more intuitive, and flexible enough to handle any personalization scenario – even the complex ones.
Right after launching Version 1, we got straight to work on Version 2. Here’s a quick look at what’s on the way:
1. Smarter, More Streamlined App Settings #
Unified Live Preview: Now, see your product image and customization options together in a single window. No more switching between different views!
Enhanced Editing Controls: Easily undo or redo changes, zoom in and out, and activate an optional grid display in the preview settings panel. These tools let you fine-tune your option previews with precision and ease, ensuring every detail is just right.
2. Advanced Creative Features #
🖼️ Automatic Background Removal: Instantly remove backgrounds from customer-uploaded images right after uploading, before inserting them into the preview.
👤 Automatic Face Cutouts: Effortlessly crop faces from customer images to use in previews, ideal for trending products like shirts, blankets, and socks with face prints.
♾️ Element Duplication & Patterns: Easily create and repeat text or image elements in multiple positions for products that require special patterns.
🅰️ Text Effects & Opacity: Make custom text pop with special effects and adjustable transparency, adding depth and creativity to your product designs for a more vibrant and realistic preview.
✂️ Custom Cropping: Allow customers to crop images into predefined shapes immediately after uploading, giving them more control over their creations.
📂 Asset Management: Save and organize your favorite fonts, shapes, and images for quick and easy reuse in future projects. We’ll also provide a selection of useful custom fonts and images you can use right away.
✨ Ready-to-Use Templates: Kickstart your product options and personalizer setup with our growing library of pre-made templates featuring live previews, perfectly meeting the needs of more stores.
3. Expanded Compatibility With Existing App Features #
In the upcoming version, we’re addressing some compatibility issues between the Product Personalizer and other features of the app:
Multi-file Upload
Right now, when you enable the multiple file upload option, only the first image uploaded will show in the live preview. This means that even if customers upload multiple images at once, only the first one will appear. To show more than one image in the preview, you have to add separate upload options.
In Version 2, we’ll fix this by making multiple file uploads fully compatible with the Product Personalizer. This means that when customers upload multiple images, all of them will appear in the live preview, and they’ll be able to drag and move the images to their preferred positions.
Edit Options in Cart
Currently, when customers use the “Edit options” feature in the cart page, there’s no product image displayed in the popup, which prevents the live preview from working.
In the next update, we’ll enhance this functionality so that the Product Personalizer will work seamlessly even when customers edit their options in the cart.
Wrapped Options in Popup
Similar to the “Edit in Cart” feature, when you enable the option to show all customizations in a popup (triggered by a button click), there’s currently no product image displayed, which means the Product Personalizer doesn’t function in this scenario either. We’re planning to fix this in the upcoming version.
Quantity Selector
The Quantity Selector allows customers to select the quantity for each option value. Right now, if a product option has a preview, increasing the quantity only shows one image for that option.
In the next version, we’re planning to enhance this feature so that the live preview will update with multiple images based on the selected quantity.
4. Better Third-Party Integrations #
